Eda Sezer is a London-based filmmaker and Head of Development at Set Cat, where she develops narrative projects alongside her own work as a writer and director. Originally from Turkey, she earned a BA in Cinema at New York University followed by an MA in Film (Directing) at the University of the Arts London.
Even as a little troublemaker, Eda was fascinated by stories, especially the strange, unsettling world of horror. She’s always been fascinated by the way horror- despite being so often misunderstood- has one of the deepest understandings of intimacy, psychology, and the complexity of women. She’ll gladly challenge anyone to name another genre that tells human stories better than horror.
More than anything, she’s always been a cinephile. How could she forget the feeling films gave her growing up? She still remembers how films could change the rhythm of her heart. That’s the feeling she hopes to create for others.
